Imagine Wild Nothing having a funny turn and suddenly going country. Then imagine them writing a song about Ice Hockey and getting Nick Cave to sing on it. Just for added weirdness, they then ask Ariel Pink to come in and do a comical commentator cut over a part of the track. That's exactly what the new song from Edmonton singer- songwriter Mac DeMarco (released as part of the 2013 Adult Swim Singles series) entitled "Young Blood" sounds like. It's silly, reverb- drenched fun, with some very eccentric synths hanging over it, as well as an equally bumpkin- like atmosphere. It could certainly do without the incessant, high pitched backing vocals in the chorus however.
